Tudor Pelagos watches
There is also the high-end independent watch maker show known as the Geneva Time Exhibition, that I will be attending. Another load of great watch makers will be here including, but not limited to, Alain Silberstein, Linde Werdelin, HD3, Clerc, BRM, Marvin, Magellan, and Pierre DeRoche. I can't possibly check everything out by all the brands, but I will do my best to give you the largest overview possible.
Out of the four new watches in this collection from Swiss Angular Momentum I like the painting of the Kingfisher bird the best. The little guy has a nice proud look and is wonderfully rendered in relative miniature on the reserve of the sapphire crystal. You don't get one of the Angular Momentum Artisan Collection Timepieces because you want the latest wild looking timepiece. You get them because you are an art lover and want to combine fine art with your need to tell the time on your wrist. As I continue to see more and more of these master painted watches in the Verre Èglomisé style that Angular Momentum does so well, I begin to realize their place in the wrist watch world.
Putting together a watch like the Maitres du Temps Chapter One or Two is not an easy effort. You don't just do a quick drawing and get it over with or pick pieces from a parts bin. At the same time you can't just draw it up in a CAD program and then build it out of metal expecting a masterpiece. You need the accumulation of years of experience from people who have messed up enough times to know how to get it (making a nice watch) done right. This is the theme of Maitres du Temps, to bring watch making masters together to create special things.
